In an effort to reduce the amount of paper used during The Placement Exchange, we are asking employers and candidates to consider refraining from sending hard copy thank you notes. The Convention Center and surrounding hotels also participate in a very comprehensive recycling program that includes composting and an energy saving program. Below are a few additional ways that you can practice sustainability while at The Placement Exchange: Refrain from printing out resumes or job descriptions. These items are accessible on line and can be viewed through your Employer and/or Candidate profiles page; Use your refillable bottles at water dispensers spread throughout the conference facilities; Conserve energy in your hotel room by turning off lights, TVs, and air conditioners when you are not in your room; Conserve water in your hotel room by taking advantage of the towel and linen reuse programs; Recycle paper, bottles, and cans in designated bins throughout the Convention Center and hotels; Walk or take public transportation when visiting the sites of Seattle; Donate extra items you receive from the event to local charities (ie. T-shirts, office supplies, and books).
