Volunteer for The Placement Exchange: Chicago '10

To give you an idea of some of the duties on-site, please continue reading for a brief description of some activities you will be doing!

Candidate Lounge Assistant — these volunteers will welcome candidates, answer their questions, coordinate institutional and other resources for candidates to check out, and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the lounge

Directional Volunteer — these volunteers will serve as informational resources and guide people from the first floor registration area to the upstairs TPE activities/

Door Monitor — these volunteers will welcome participants and check for TPE name badges upon entry into the interviewing halls, Candidate Lounge, and Employer Lounge.

Educational Resources Attendant — these volunteers will answer questions regarding TPE services and educational and career related resources and schedule appointments and coordinate check-in for the Coaches Corner and mock interview process.

Employer Load In / Out Assistant — These volunteers will greet employers upon check-in and help them carry their materials to their tables (upon arrival) or out of the Placement Exchange area (upon completion of the event). *These volunteers should wear comfortable clothing.

Employer Lounge Assistant — these volunteers will welcome employers, answer their questions, coordinate candidate resume books and other employer resources, and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the lounge

Interview Area Hosts — these volunteers will be positioned near the interviewing areas, serving as resource for employers

Of the Moment Session Attendant — these volunteers will welcome participants and check for TPE name badges, maintain a session attendance record, ensure that the presenter has all of his/her needs met, and maintain cleanliness of the room between sessions.

Registration Assistant — these volunteers will help register new candidates and employers, assist with setting up their profiles, check pre-registered candidates and employers in, and distribute nametags and event resources.

Relaxation Zone Assistant — these volunteers will serve as a resource, answer questions for candidates, maintain the relaxation activities, and maintain the cleanliness and relaxing ambiance of the zone

Runners — These volunteers will run errands and collect, sort, and "run" correspondence and other items for employers and candidates between Interview Scheduling, the Candidate and Employer Lounges, and Employer tables.

TPE Closing Help — on Sunday, these volunteers will assist the committee's tear down of the Placement Exchange space, running errands, disassembling candidate and employer mailboxes, stuffing leftover employer/candidate correspondence into envelopes for mailing, etc. *These volunteers should wear comfortable clothing.

TPE Opening Help — on Wednesday, these volunteers will assist the committee's set up of the Placement Exchange space prior to the event, running errands, assembling candidate and employer mailboxes, etc. *These volunteers should wear comfortable clothing.

Volunteer and Information Booth Assistant — these volunteers will help check other volunteers in for their shifts - ensuring that all areas are covered- and will serve as the main point of contact and for those candidates and employers who have questions about TPE and Boston points of interest.

Waiting Area Host — these volunteers will serve as guides and resources in the interview waiting room for candidates, answering questions and helping candidates and employers connect to walk back to the interview area.
