Reports to: Assistant Dean of Student Success
Status: Full-time, salaried

Summary

The academic coach’s primary responsibility is to provide students with academic coaching, counseling, advocacy and connection to other support services on campus. The coach is an integral member of a team of professionals committed to student success. 

Job Requirements

  • Serve as an academic counselor and coach, meeting regularly with students to coach them toward meeting their academic goals.
  • Monitor student progress, using available research and databases, to help students stay on track to graduation. Intervene as necessary to help students get back on track and persist to graduation.  
  • Assist students in developing studying, note-taking, & time management skills necessary for college success.
  • Help participants and/or their families connect with other on-campus resources and off-campus agencies as necessary.
  • Participate in the First-Year Experience.
  • Supervise student workers.
  • Maintain student files and other necessary documentation. 
  • Collect and record data necessary for evaluation and assessment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
