South Dakota State University seeks a American Indian Student Recruitment Coordinator to meet the recruitment and enrollment goals of the Wokini Initiative. This position will report to the Director of the American Indian Student Center but will work closely with the SDSU Office of Admissions to receive training specific to student recruitment. The American Indian Student Recruitment Coordinator will assist in meeting the University Wokini Initiative goals to establish relationships with the tribal education entities and develop pre-college programming to create an SDSU pipeline and promote success in higher education. Establish relationships with leaders in tribal education (K-12 and post-secondary) and tribal communities.
Partner with SDSU Admissions Office to professionally represent SDSU at college fairs, high school visits, and other off-campus programs.
Meet with prospective students and families that visit the SDSU campus.
Successfully manage assigned territories to meet engagement and enrollment goals of the university.
Establish an effective communication program with students and their parents and partners from an assigned territory including telephone, written communication, email, and social media.
Determine admission status of freshman students.
Respond to phone calls for information.
Tele-counsel with prospective students about admission processes.
Develop pre-college programs designed to promote success in higher education.
Participate in Professional Service as assigned.
