Position Description



 (This is not a State/University Position)

SUMMARY:  Directs the programs that provide opportunities for students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community to participate in a variety of activities and services.  Develops and employs assessment strategies to increase and improve student engagement in the programs offered. This position reports directly to the ASI & SC Executive Director.


  • Directly supervises the ASI Programs Advisor and indirectly supervises student assistants and volunteers within programming, by selecting, training, facilitating meetings, conducting performance evaluations, setting departmental goals, and monitoring and directing work flows.
  • Oversees all of ASI and SC Programs by providing guidance for program development, marketing, and program assessment.  This includes reviewing and approving event ideas while collaborating with programs advisor on program development.  Ensures all areas of programming are compliant with Risk Management and ADA Compliance requirements.  Seeks advisement from the Human Resource and Risk Manager to ensure all contracts, insurance and waivers are processed accurately and timely.
  • Works collaboratively with the Programs Advisor and Marketing in the development of communications designed to keep the campus and general public informed of ASI and SC programs and activities.                                                 
  • Develops and implements programming policies and procedures and guides students and staff members in achieving problem-solving strategies related to policy, program, and administration.  Ensure activities adhere to procedural guidelines and internal policies.  Evaluates practices and implements modifications as needed.
  • Develops, administers and analyzes departmental budget, financial records and payroll processes. Develops administrative reports as needed.
  • Uses analysis reporting to design and conduct assessments for evaluation and refinement of all ASI and SC programs and services.  Compiles all assessment information and develops reports and recommendations for program improvement.
  • Administers new student orientation in collaboration with campus departments.
  • Plans and coordinates community service programs such as the Warriors Giving Back Program, all ASI and SC Internal events such ASI and SC Unite and Awards Dinners.
  • Plans the ASI Alternative Spring Break event including recruitment, scheduling, and attending the event as a chaperone. 
  • Plans, organizes, and execute events for ASI and SC Alumni.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk;  normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 20 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, copiers.

Work is generally performed in an office environment and throughout the campus areas during student programs; continuous contact with other staff, students, faculty, and the public.  Periodic travel is required for conferences, retreats and training.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Liberal Arts, Business or related field.
  • Three years of full-time experience in student programming and student leadership and development.
  • Demonstrated expertise with staff supervision, budget management, and training programs.
  • Proven success in working with students, faculty, and staff, and reasonable experience and demonstrated capability in working with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries as well as explain, interpret, and apply a variety of policies and procedures.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office.
  • English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.


  • Master’s degree
  • Knowledge of state and university policies and regulations as they relate to risk management, student activities, purchasing, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Experience working in Higher Education.
