Position Description

The Assistant/Associate Director of University Housing provides administrative leadership to assure that the residential programming component of the department contributes to a productive living-learning environment for students.  This position serves as a member of the supervisory management team charged with oversight of university housing services.

Required Qualifications:  A master’s degree in Student Personnel, or related area, along with five years minimum post-Master’s level student housing experience, plus full-time professional staff supervision for Assistant Director.  Required seven years plus post-Master’s level student housing experience, plus professional full-time staff supervision with varied levels of experience and skills for Associate Director.  Proven supervision, programming, staff selection, crisis management, discipline, staff training and leadership development skills required. A Criminal Background Check is required for employment.

Preferred Qualifications:  Demonstrated experience with facilities, budgets, summer camps and conferences, apartment management and living learning communities.   Proficiency in personal computers and related software applications, particularly housing management systems, like StarRez, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
