Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is Seeking: Assistant Dean, Academic Integration

The Assistant Dean, Academic Integration coordinates academic support and monitors progress of the first-year cohort through programs and initiatives such as: I-PERSIST mentoring, First-Year intervention program and Early Warning System case management. The Assistant Dean collaborates with Institute partners to collect and assess identifiers for at-risk students to determine appropriate intervention and support. The position also assists in developing and planning programs that support and enhance first-year students’ academic and personal success and leadership development.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in College Student Personnel or Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or related field; 
  • Three (3) years experience with student development programs.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires a thorough understanding of student development concepts and theory.
  • Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with diverse constituents
  • Requires demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Requires planning, organizing and effective time management skills. 
  • Requires ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data. 
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to relate to students. 
  • Requires ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Requires ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Requires ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
  • Requires the ability to deal with rapidly changing, as well as sometimes competing priorities.
