Position Description

The Geneseo Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD) program offers unique workshops to help students develop the personal skills and knowledge necessary for future success in both life and career. The GOLDmission is accomplished through education, development, and training of students in an extensive series of personal development programs, institutes, leadership certificates, service learning, volunteer work, and active engagement in college and community life.

The Assistant Dean of Students for Leadership and Service is a full-time, professional position. The position’s chief responsibilities are to plan, coordinate, and implement the College’s Geneseo Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD) program, to serve the campus and community in planning and implementing leadership conferences, symposiums, and campus-wide days of service, to plan, coordinate, and implement on-campus and community-wide service projects, and to integrate service and leadership, advancing the role of the “servant-leader.” The Assistant Dean also promotes the value of socially responsible citizenship as articulated in the mission statement of the College and the College’s core value of civic engagement.

Job Requirements

Supervision of Coordinator of Student Volunteerism and Service LearningAmericorps VISTA volunteerCommunity Outreach Assistant.

Leadership Education.

Direct leadership conferences, symposia, and days of service.

Coordinate On-campus and community-wide service events.

Adminstration of the leadership program and office.
