Position Description

The Assistant Director of the Center for Engagement and Opportunity works to support the professional and personal development of students and alumni, and assists in developing the response to the State University System metrics with timely, effective assessment and communications. They will develop and implement effective assessment and program evaluation methods and reports, meet with students to provide guidance and feedback on post-college planning, career management strategies and career search tactics, and engage in professional organizations and community activities.

Additional responsibilities include cultivating key partnerships with college faculty, departments and offices, promoting leadership development programs on campus. The Assistant Director is collaborative, open and transparent while working with other units within the College to implement recruiting systems, programs and events that connect employers, community members and alumni with the College's students, faculty and other alumni. They will develop and implement effective assessment and program evaluation methods and reports, and engage in professional organizations and community activities.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in working with student development initiatives and vocational exploration. The candidate should be team-oriented, display a creative spirit, be comfortable with change and ambiguity, demonstrate reliability and follow-through on projects and programs, and be effective in both group presentations and one-on-one student coaching.

Job Requirements

A Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.
