Position Description

Asst Director Academic Affairs - (19000089)

Description

The Assistant Director for Academic Affairs within the Kornberg School of Dentistry plans and manages the daily activities for the Departments of Academic Affairs and Graduate Education, such as: registration, student assessment, supervision of programs, and mentoring and supporting a diverse student body. In addition, the Assistant Director will perform complex specialized duties, including duties related to technology which supports registrar, education and assessment functions at the school; and will be responsible for coordinating the planning and delivery of special events (i.e. graduation), and designing and maintaining databases and systems to assist with daily operations and functions of the department. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and minimum of four years of directly related experience within a higher education environment.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Master’s degree preferred.

Extreme attention to detail as well as confidentiality.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external customers. 
Self-motivated.
A proven track record in maintaining discretion and confidential information.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meets tight deadlines, and has the ability to function independently and efficiently.
Independently determine order of priority and self-initiate. 
Solid time management and organizational skills.
Excellent work ethic and energy level.
