Position Description

The Assistant Director for Assignments is the key expert resource of the Assignments Office team that has the primary responsibility of coordinating room management, billing and report generation for approximately 6000 bed spaces and supports all departmental assessment efforts related to resident research and data collection.

The Assistant Director of Assignments is to serve as the full time supervisor of the student staff members assigned to the Assignments team and is expected to serve as on-site supervisor for full time Assignment Team members in the absence of the Associate Director for Administration.


Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Previous experience working in a university Housing and Residence Life Department strongly preferred (Housing and Residence Life Adviser, Program Assistant or Coordinator).

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Must be detailed oriented and demonstrate the ability to coordinate and monitor multiple tasks in a very busy office environment.

Superior customer service skills needed.

Excellent conflict management skills needed.

Ability to decrease tension and mitigate personal conflict between stake holders in Residence Life (parents, students, university staff and visitors).

Prior experience supervising student employees.

Experience working with program budgets.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
