$27,527 - $50,930
Additional Compensation:
We anticipate the starting salary to be $31,865.00 -- however we anticipate this to be adjusted with the pending FLSA changes. This is a live-on position; a 2-bedroom furnished apartment with utilities including basic cable and internet is provided for the Assistant Director for Residence Education. The Assistant Director for Residence Education does not provide direct oversight or supervision for the community in which they live. Free parking decal with designated parking space Up to $1500 in professional development funds 5 meals per week when school is in session May purchase membership at University Recreation center for $25.00 annually Excellent benefits package

Position Description

Job Duty

Recruit, select/hire, and train student staffing including Resident Advisers, Desk Assistants, Student Office Assistants, Summer Conference Assistants and game room staff (RA, DA, SOA, SCA, game room staff) and provides department-wide developmental activities for all student staff and ensure consistent training, evaluation and selection occurs department-wide. Provides assistance with evaluation of all student staff. Provide assessment data supporting the effectiveness of training efforts.

Responsible for creating the on-call professional/graduate staff on- call schedule Participates in on-call rotation. Is available to students and others on campus in the event of an emergency.

Adjudicate issues of student conduct and provide support and education for students who are struggling at the university. Advise the Residence Hall Honor Council.

Responsible for recruitment, selection, training and evaluation of Residential Life Graduate Assistant. Provides development of their supervision skills of the Desk Assistants and game room staff. Assist with their competency development in housing and residence life functions.

Provide support during large scale events (Move-UP, OAR orientation, department/division wide events, Fab Fridays, Open House, etc.).

Job Requirements

Masters degree in Student Services field with a minimum of one year post-Masters in related work with experience in coordinating student staff training, student conduct adjudication and organizing student staff selection processes.  A bachelors degree with a miniumum of 3 years post-Bachelors in the field of student housing with related work experiences will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Banner, Odyssey (Housing Assignment Software) Maxient (Student Conduct Software), CS Gold, Persona".

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Qualities should include outstanding organization, leadership, and communication skills. Strong desire to work with and collaborate with others inside and outside of the department. Innovative ideas. Programming and supervising experience required.
