Position Description

The Assistant Director for Leadership Programs is responsible for providing co-curricular, logistical and administrative support for all Wilks leadership development programs.  Additionally, the Assistant Director develops and implements Institute assessment initiatives and leads undergraduate staff hiring, training and professional development.  The Assistant Director also fosters close working relationships across the Division of Student Life, with colleagues in academic departments, and with community organizations. 


Job Requirements

Exercise collaborative leadership within the Institute to ensure the productivity of leadership program project teams and provide curricular expertise to meet desired student leadership learning outcomes.

Supervise Graduate Assistant, Graduate Practicum students and 1-5 undergraduate student employees.

Manage hiring procedures for professional, graduate and undergraduate staff as well as create and implement staff development initiatives. 

Coordinate Institute assessment efforts to include development and tracking of key performance indicators, creation of  annual assessment plans, tracking and reporting of assessment efforts and leading the development of learning outcomes for office initiatives. 

Actively participate in Student Life and University Committees, to include service as an advisor for the Associated Student Government.

Teach EDL 290, Nature of Group Leadership (Scholar Leader LLC) or similar course on a rotating basis (typically every other year)
