Position Description

This position is responsible for multi-faceted efforts to design and implement experiential learning opportunities that foster college students’ civic learning and active participation in diverse communities, with a specific focus on Youth & Educational Partnerships. The Assistant Director (AD) provides leadership to oversee and administer academic and community partnerships that support accessible, integrated, and immersive student learning. The AD’s primary responsibilities are twofold: (a.) To identify, support, and sustain interested faculty and community partners who help foster student learning related to Youth & Educational Partnerships. As such, the AD crafts and implements curricula that cultivates inclusive student leadership and development, while also advising student participants and building program capacity among youth and mentoring programs, including the student organization Community Friends. (b.) To oversee CCE’s on- and off-campus strategic communications, marketing, and outreach by designing and implementing communications tools online and in print that illustrate CCE’s engagement with and support for students, faculty, and communities, locally and around the globe, and provide constituents with resources and information about connecting academic inquiry with civic participation. Through this leadership, the AD contributes to the College’s mission to prepare students to lead engaged, consequential, and creative lives, contribute to their communities, and address the world’s most challenging problems.
