Position Description

The Assistant Director of Community Standards will join a highly selective, tight-knit community of approximately 1,850 students and over 800 employees at Hamilton College in central NY. As a full-time professional in the Division of Student Life, the Assistant Director of Community Standards will play an integral role in creating a community of respect and support at Hamilton. The Assistant Director of Community Standards is responsible for creating and implementing Hamilton’s Sexual Misconduct prevention curricula, as well as assisting in the coordination of institutional adjudication and compliance processes. This position provides a unique opportunity to establish a reciprocal relationship between community engagement and accountability.

Responsibilities:

Provide prevention and educational programming around the topics of consent, the role of alcohol and other drugs in regards to sexual assault, sexual health and sex positivity
Coordinate, facilitate and grow ongoing Yes Means Yes program.
Assess the needs and interests of the student population to determine programming and training considerations.
Work with student organizations to bring programming to campus.
Develop and maintain web resources about sexual assault prevention and education.
Maintain and update all outreach materials including website, Reach Out App, brochures, and posters.
Assist with the Title IX formal complaint process as assigned by the Director of Community Standards.
Assist in coordinating the Campus Leadership Team for the Culture of Respect program.
Assist with Title IX, Clery Act, and NYS Article 129-B compliance
Maintain Maxient judicial database.
Assist the Director of Community Standards in processing conduct cases.
Assist with annual review of policy and procedures.
Aid in statistical tracking and reporting.


Job Requirements

Qualifications

Master's degree in social work, public health, student personnel services, higher education administration, counseling, community/college health or related field preferred. One to two years post Master’s experience or equivalent professional experience strongly encouraged.
Relevant experience educating students on sexual health and sexual assault-prevention education.
Demonstrated experience working with a variety of students, student organizations and diverse populations.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
Experience with desktop publishing, database related applications, and social media
Experience with and knowledge of Title IX formal processes and/or Code of Conduct proceedings

Expectations:

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Attend Division meetings as called by the Dean of Students.
Establish and maintain relationships with students through attendance at campus events, informal interaction, and organized programs.
