How You'll Contribute to the Team: 

The Assistant Director of Housing Operations will create and implement systems and processes to support the goals of the facilities team. The success of this role will be based on leading a team to achieve partnership agreement KPIs, including work order response times, customer satisfaction, operating within budget constraints, and passing the annual APPA inspection.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and management of Corvias managed residential facilities.
  • Participate in developing systems and processes required to support facility operations to enhance the student living experience in residence halls.
  • Supervise facilities staff including maintenance workers, housekeepers, mail clerks and outsourced resources.
  • Ensure work orders are performed to customer satisfaction in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding partnership agreement KPIs.
  • Analyze weekly work order reporting; gather feedback from students on completed work order satisfaction and oversee and resolve escalated issues with students and university staff.
  • Evaluate the use of resources to improve efficiencies; define priorities of work and accountability and communicate to staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring facilities are compliant with, and successfully pass, the annual APPA inspection.
  • Manage vendor relationships and initiate contract negotiations.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and manage facility operations within financial constraints.
  • Responsible for the rollout and completion of preventative maintenance programs; maintain the master calendar for facilities’ projects.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other campus departments; share calendars and communicate facility related notifications, timelines, and events to ensure rooms are ready and clean for occupants.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

Role Specific Requirements Include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2+ years’ experience providing operational support, including facilities coordination for a property management company; or 2+ years’ experience in higher education with experience in a student housing department preferred.
  • Proven success managing people and organizing team activities to ensure operations are highly productive and meet or exceed business goals.
  • Change management ability evidenced by prior success driving adoption of new business processes or work flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic environment while balancing long-term assignments against daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to professionally interact and relate to individuals with diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven success in budgeting and expense control.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, previous property management software experience a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
