Position Description

Assistant Director, Student Engagement and Civic Leadership

Lafayette College

Easton, PA

 

The Landis Center for Community Engagement (Landis Center) supports community-based learning and research, student leadership, and other community engagement activities. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of the Landis Center’s Leadership through Service programs.
  • Supervises a team of student program coordinators. 
  • Facilitates and oversees the community engagement activities of the College’s Greek organizations.
  • Collaborates with community partner organizations in the development of mutually beneficial programs, initiatives, and projects and collaborates with offices in both the campus life and academic divisions of the college to facilitate these partnerships.
  • Supports general operations of the Center including strategic, marketing, and budgetary planning.
  • Assists the Director for Community Engagement and the Assistant Director for Community-Based Learning and Research (CBLR) in the support of community-based learning and research initiatives and helps to identify, develop, and apply for local, state, and national grants.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Student programming experience and training in one or more of the following fields:
    • Civic engagement
    • Community-based learning
    • Diversity education
    • Student leadership development
  • Strong collaborative skills, ability to supervise and lead large student groups, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Two or three years’ experience working in higher education is desirable.
