Purpose of Position: The Associate Director for the Leadership and Ethics Institute provides leadership for the design, implementation, and strategic advancement of leadership education and development programs for students at the University of Texas at Austin.
Annual full-time position salary: $60,000 (non-negotiable)
Earliest Start Date: October 14, 2019
Responsibilities: Manage the development, implementation, and strategic advancement of a series of student leadership education and development programs including all aspects of curriculum design, facilitator training, partnership management, and program evaluation. Provide supervision, training, and evaluation for professional staff members, graduate assistants, and undergraduate student employees. Develop and manage strategic partnerships that advance student leadership education and development with both campus collaborators and off-campus entities as needed. Contribute to the creation and management of the unit budget including drafting the fiscal year budget proposal, evaluating costs associated with programs and initiatives, and periodic reporting of budget expenditures. Lead assessment, evaluation, and reporting of programmatic efforts to ensure quality and alignment with learning outcomes, leadership competencies, and unit goals. Complete additional duties as assigned in support of the Leadership and Ethics Institute, Office of the Dean of Students, and Division of Student Affairs, and represent the Director and LEI unit, when requested.

Required qualifications: Master’s Degree required. Six to eight years of experience in student program coordination in a Student Affairs or Higher Education setting. Experience supervising full-time professional staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in organizational and interpersonal problem-solving. Experience in program management and evaluation. Experience managing program budgets and effective allocation of resources. Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to exercise good judgement, make decisions, and manage concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment and under the pressure of deadlines. Experience in conducting comprehensive program assessment including student learning outcomes. Experience in working with diverse student populations. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred qualifications: Five or more years of professional experience working directly with college student leadership development programming. Demonstrated knowledge and application of student development and leadership theories, models, and frameworks. Possess effective facilitation and instructional skills. Experience in creating or updating student-centered programs. Ability to develop collaborative partnerships with campus departments and local community organizations. Experience and certification related to administration of self-assessment instruments, coaching, and project management.
