Position Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a creative and innovative leader for the position of Coordinator, Center for Student Engagement (CSE) Programs and Services in the ASUN Center for Student Engagement. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Engagement Outreach, the Coordinator negotiates contracts; oversees employee development program, trains, and supervises 70+ student staff; maintains equipment and vehicles; and close to $400,000.00 to run services for students that include Campus Escort and Front Desk Operations. As a member of the Division of Student Services Faculty, the Coordinator collaborates with other members of the university and surrounding community to assist in the safety of students by overseeing Campus Escort Services. This service helps to create a climate of safety for our campus community of 24,000+. This service runs 5 pm - 1 am or 7 pm -1 am, 7 days a week during the semesters. During the Fall and Spring semesters, the Coordinator will be on-call until 2 am to assist with any problems with the program.  

The Coordinator will supervise Front Desk operations which is the first line for customer service for the ASUN Student Government and the Center for Student Engagement programs and services.  The Coordinator oversees the physical space at the Center for Student Engagement, which includes conference room reservations, facility issues, work orders for lighting, locks & keys, and signage. The Coordinator will develop the student employee development program for over 200 student employees around learning outcomes based on departmental goals.  This program currently hosts two annual training days, an annual evaluation process, and an online classroom with various modules. 


Job Requirements

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR a Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
Related experience: student development in higher education, employee supervision, management of programs and services in a college or university setting, program assessment.
