About the Position
The Department of Residential Education seeks a talented and dedicated educator to join the dynamic Residential Education team as a Coordinator for Leadership Education. USF takes a holistic, learning-centered approach to residential education. We seek a professional who values leadership development as both a process and an outcome. Furthermore, we seek a professional committed to refining and innovating leadership programs within Residential Education in order to develop strategic, multi-cultural, and critical student leaders.
Responsibilities associated with this student-centered position include the following:
- The Coordinator for Leadership Education will support the ongoing development of residential leadership programs to ensure that these initiatives positively impact residential students and align with departmental and institutional values.
- The Coordinator for Leadership Education will directly advise the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH).
- The Coordinator for Leadership Education will oversee the recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing development of Hall Council, RHA, and NRHH student leaders.
-The Coordinator for Leadership Education will collaborate with campus offices and hall staff to ensure that Residential Education supports leadership initiatives that effectively and efficiently align with institutional priorities.
- The Coordinator for Leadership Education will develop and respond to assessment to design departmental leadership programs that enhance student success and increase the cultural competency of residential students. - The Coordinator for Leadership Education will carry out their responsibilities under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Recruitment, Training, and Leadership.
The selected candidate will be able to set departmental goals for Residential Education’s various leadership programs. To be successful in the position, the Coordinator for Leadership Education must incorporate accountability, vision, social justice education, and personal development into their advising relationships with student leaders. Additionally, the Coordinator for Leadership Education must have excellent interpersonal communication, organization, and administrative skills. Finally, the Coordinator for Leadership Education will need to establish and maintain strong, effective, and collaborative working relationships with multiple constituents including Housing & Residential Education staff, campus offices, students, staff, faculty members, and various other community groups.
