Position Description

General Summary

The Coordinator for Residential Student Conduct will assists in the overall management of the residential student conduct process within the Office of Housing and Residence Life (OHRL).

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related degree.

Experience in student conduct.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of full-time work experience in residence life or student affairs.

Experience responding to and managing emergencies and other incidents that may occur in the residential environment.

Experience with Banner, Mercury, Maxient, and Campus Labs.

Experience advising student groups.

Experience with assessment and running analytics.


Job Requirements

•Assists in the overall management of the residential student conduct process within the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

•Interprets the student code of conduct and housing community standards.

•Creates, assigns and schedules housing cases to appropriate hearing officers.

•Tracks all cases to ensure they are efficiently managed and appropriate sanctions are levied.

•Maintains all housing cases in University conduct database to include production of monthly, end of semester, and annual reports.

•Serves as liaison and works in close collaboration with the Dean of Student’s Office on all residential conduct matters, including review of the student code of conduct.

•Serves as a university hearing officer for violations of the Student Code of Conduct and Housing Community Standards.

•Designs and facilitates training workshops for hearing officers and student staff members.

•Recruits, selects, and trains Residential Conduct Committee (RCC) members.

•Collaborates with the RCC Chair to schedule RCC correspondence and hearings.

•Provides leadership to the Community Guidebook Review Committee.

•Facilitates the Community Standards Workshop (CSW).

Other Job Duties

•Stays current on trends and education in the Student Conduct and Residential Housing field in order to develop new and improved programming. Participates in state, regional, and national professional organizations, conferences and workshops.

•Represents the Office of Housing and Residence Life on department and university committees, as well as community events as requested.

•Assists with administrative tasks including, but not limited to, the recruitment, selection and training of student and professional staff members.

•May supervise OPS, student workers and/or volunteers/staff during special events.

•Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
