Position Description

Responsibilities for the Coordinator position include administering and providing support for retention and outreach events/programs, including the Fire Protection Engineering Design Challenge; leading the recruitment efforts of the Department; and supervising the Fire Protection Engineering Ambassador program.


Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of two years of full-time related higher education experience. A Master’s degree in Higher Education or Student Affairs may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, experience with technological systems to efficiently perform tasks (i.e. mail merge, mass communication, database creation and management), and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Successful candidates will possess enthusiasm and a positive approach to work, excellent rapport with diverse groups of people, along with a commitment to the development of the recruitment initiative of the Department and the retention of current students in the major.

Preferences:
Experience in higher education administration and/or event planning specific to higher education recruitment, outreach and/or retention is preferred. Prior experience with student supervision, recruitment and/or outreach programs for an undergraduate program is preferred.
