Position Description

The Office of Residence Life at Randolph-Macon College is seeking a student-centered educator to join our talented and energetic team, in our Coordinator of Residence Life position.  This is a 12 month, live onsite position with on-call responsibilities.

The Coordinator of Residence Life has the primary responsibilities of the day to day management of Randolph-Macon’s residential communities, working to create a living and learning environment that fosters academic, social and emotional wellness, as well as personal growth.  The successful candidate will seek to develop a sense of community in the halls/areas that they manage through:  supervising and evaluating paraprofessional Resident Assistants living and working in the halls, developing a vibrant programming presence in our communities with both upper-class and first year students, and performing administrative duties congruent with maintaining community standards, housing management, database management and a healthy and safe campus environment.  Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean of Residence Life, the Coordinator will assist the Office of Residence Life and the Dean of Students office in supporting students within all our residential communities.


Job Requirements

Qualifications:  Master’s Degree in Student Personnel, Counseling or related field preferred.  Applicants will require strong interpersonal and organizational skills, well-developed writing and verbal communication skills, and the proficiency as well as a desire to work with computer databases and Microsoft Office Suite.  Applicants should possess the ability to work across different functional areas of the College, have strong attention to detail, independent initiative, and must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
