Position Description

St. Louis College of Pharmacy is seeking candidates for a Coordinator, Residence Life. This is a live-in position that supervises all aspects of two residence spaces on campus experience at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The Coordinator supervises a staff of 8 Resident Assistants and 3 Community Liaisons. The Coordinator leads a residence life program that augments the co-curricular experience for students at the College. The Coordinator of Residence Life collaborates with offices to provide a safe, comfortable environment that promotes balance, positive relationships, and social justice. In addition, the Coordinator is responsible for marketing the residence hall to students and medical complex partners, managing judicial services for residence hall students, and handling administrative details necessary for the day-to-day management of the residence hall spaces, including: room assignments, move-in/move out procedures, health & safety inspections, room changes, management of the front desk, etc. 


Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

A. Education & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel or similar program
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Hall Coordinator or equivalent position

B. Technical Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office Products and willingness to learn Symplicity/Accommodate software.

C. Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including: 1) an ability to get along well with others, 2) good time management practices, 3) a high level of organization, 4) counseling skills, and 5) good public speaking, presentation, and/or teaching skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasional evening and weekend work.
The incumbent generally performs job duties in a normal business office environment. This involves working while sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
The job also includes some event planning and execution, which requires a significant level of physical activity, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting office supply items that may weigh up to 20 pounds.
Additionally, the incumbent may be required to attend meetings in other offices, or deliver and/or retrieve information from other offices around campus.

The ability to operate basic office equipment such as personal computers, duplicating machines, fax machines and standard office telephones may also be required.
