Position Description

Florida Atlantic University's department of Housing & Residential Life is seeking a Coordinator, University Housing,Boca Raton, FL.

 

The Coordinator, University Housing will serve as a critical member of the Housing Management team, and oversee all facilities and activities of the University Housing Facilities unit, including maintenance, custodial, and grounds functions, while directly providing oversight to the CAPSTONE (a third party vendor for housing maintenance and custodial services).

 

Provide strong leadership and guidance in helping University Housing set and meet its mission, vision and values. Help develop guidelines, policies and procedures based on the University's goals, particularly as they relate to supporting student success, retention and graduation, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, attractive environment for students that supports their academic and personal development.

 

Use performance metrics and assessment programs to ensure that residents have high quality facilities and services.

 

Research, understand and implement changes based on industry trends and best practices.

 

Work closely and collaboratively with various campus departments, including Physical Plant Management, Risk Management, Facilities Planning, EHS, and Purchasing; and work to ensure positive relationships both internally and externally.

 

Provide guidance to formulating the annual operating budget and oversight the University Housing long-range major maintenance program plan and budget that anticipates and responds to infrastructural, mechanical, and aesthetic facility's needs.

 

Coordinate feasibility reviews, cost estimates, bid preparation, etc. in coordination with CAPSTONE.

 

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

 

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.

 

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
