Position Description

This position is designed to lead and consult with the UNC Asheville community regarding mental health and substance abuse services, issues, and programs.   It also leads and consults with the campus and local community regarding mental health and substance abuse services, issues, and programs.  This position provides individual and group counseling, educatioal groups, mental health and substance abuse evaluations, and referrals to the local community for all UNC Asheville students.  This position is split between indivudal and group counseling (75%) and coordination of substance abuse education (25%).    This position also has responsibility to develop and implement outreach services, prevention programs, and program asssessment activities related to mental health and substance abuse programs.  


Job Requirements

Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Professional Counseling
North Carolina Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist or equivalent
North Carolina license in Psychology, Social Work, or Professional Counseling
Experience/training in Substance Abuse Counseling and education programming with a college population. 
Three to five years experience in a substance abuse counseling
