Position Description

Tulsa Community College is seeking a full-time Dean of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. The ideal candidate will share TCC's commitment to educating its racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. We currently enroll around 23,000 students, 40% of whom are from racially minoritized populations. The successful candidate will join a college that exhibits its dedication to its students, faculty and staff through culturally responsive events, equity-minded professional development opportunities, dedicated funding for racial equity initiatives and supports dedicated to DACA students and their families. 

The Dean of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion empowers students, faculty, staff and community members to collectively use their power, knowledge, and will to make equity an attainable goal for all TCC students. The Dean, together with the AVP for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion will lead and coordinate the College's efforts to produce "know-how" to the college community to bring about equity for marginalized and minoritized populations.  

The Dean will supervise 5 program directors, collaborate with faculty, staff and students to expand and deepen learning about structural roots of inequality and how inequality is produced in commonplace practices, language, customs, and gestures. The Dean will provide day-to-day management and oversight for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, assess effectiveness of initiatives, help identify policies/best practice for embedding equity in faculty and staff hiring and develop innovative learning strategies to help the institution meet its goal of equity in student outcomes and other duties as assigned by the Provost & AVP for ED&I.


Job Requirements

Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the community college student population, including students with different ability statuses (e.g., physical and/or learning). A minimum of 4 years of supervising a diverse team. Strong project management skills.
