Position Description

With more than 400 student organizations and an estimated 14,000 students involved in learning opportunities outside of the classroom, Northeastern seeks a Director of the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) to guide the organization in the next chapter of its development. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the Director of CSI is responsible for developing strategies and overseeing a staff of 15 who work in the critical areas of student organization programming and development, fraternity and sorority life, leadership development, and program operations (scheduling, box office operations, marketing and communications). Furthermore, the Director plays a key role in the development and execution of university-wide programs and frequently represents CSI on a variety of campus-wide committees. As a leader of this vibrant organization, the Director is expected to identify new opportunities to engage students and to capitalize on opportunities to enhance the services provided by CSI.

To assist in these efforts, the Director will directly supervise three members of the CSI staff who serve in leadership roles and will work in concert with them to plot a course for CSI that aligns with university and divisional priorities. Northeastern is a global university, and the Director is responsible for cultivating opportunities for our students around the world to engage with our vital student life program. Central to the success of the Director is the ability for CSI to maintain important partnerships. As such, the Director will frequently engage staff members in the areas of Northeastern University Police, Dining Services, Student Center Operations, External Events and Conference Housing, Residential Life, Risk Management, Facilities, General Counsel, Student Conduct, Alumni Relations and New Student Orientation to name a few.

This position may require frequent evening/weekend responsibilities as needed.
