Position Summary:
The Director for Diversity and Inclusion is responsible for coordinating efforts to foster an inclusive campus community that attracts, respects, and supports diversity in multiple forms. This person is responsible for the design, oversight and planning of related programs, workshops, and training sessions that promote the institution’s goals and values. The Director will be responsible for actively participating in the Division of Student Affairs and collaborating with students, faculty, and staff on the implementation of initiatives that support and further an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students. The Director will work in partnership with the campus community in addressing issues related to under-represented and/or marginalized students. The candidate must have demonstrated experience presenting/leading diversity education programming as well as some familiarity with recruitment, retention and issues/conditions that impact traditionally under-represented and/or marginalized students in higher education. The candidate must have commitment to social justice and strong understanding of social justice theory.  Experience with addressing university retention is a plus.

Compensation:

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, or closely related field; high-level ability to communicate (oral and written) to a broad and varied audience, and an excellent ability to interact and serve individuals from diverse backgrounds are required.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education setting; experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and students; knowledge of social justice theory; and experience with curriculum development are preferred.
