Champlain College invites applications for the position of Director of Housing and Residential Life. The Director serves as a senior staff member within the Division of Student Affairs, Diversity and Inclusion and oversees all aspects of housing, residential life and residential education. Candidates must be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and able to balance administrative duties with a strong student development focus. The Director is responsible for creating safe, inclusive, and dynamic communities that empower students' holistic development for more than 1400 residents. This position is supervised directly by the Dean of Students and plays a key role in the strategic planning of the department with a focus on operations, safety, security, fiscal responsibility, & compliance.
The Director must create efficient operational practices that focus on student learning, growth, and development. The position contributes to the strategic & capital planning within the department and the execution of housing operations including marketing/promotion of University housing, room assignments, billing, & front desk management. This position leads the department's occupancy management efforts, oversees the residential database software (Adirondack Housing Director), & manages room selection process for students. The Director provides training and support to staff and team members.
The Director also serves as the College's Title IX Coordinator, under the direction of the Vice President of Student Affairs and Institutional Diversity and Inclusion, to ensure Champlain College complies with Title IX related compliance. The Director coordinates the College's Title IX Response Team, made up of four deputy coordinators, and serves as the lead contact for external case investigators as needed.
