Position Description

Established by the Northwest Ordinance of 1878 and chartered in 1804, Ohio University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio and the first in the Northwest Territory. OHIO strives to be the best student-centered, transformative learning community in America, where students realize their promise, faculty advance knowledge, staff achieve excellence, and alumni become global leaders. The University is committed to fostering, embracing, and celebrating diversity in all its forms. The beautiful, historic residential campus is located in the rolling foothills of Southeast Ohio in the quintessential college town of Athens, Ohio. With over 17,300 undergraduates and more than 4,000 graduate students enrolled from all 50 states and nearly 100 countries, the Athens campus is a dynamic and diverse learning community. Collectively, the full-time, part-time and continuing education enrollment for Ohio University across all of its campuses is nearly 40,000.

OHIO’s Division of Student Affairs comes down to two words—student success. With 13 departments, 420+ professional and graduate-level staff and 3,300+ undergraduate student employees, the division exists to support and challenge students to become their best. Through a wide array of activities, services and opportunities, the division helps students get involved and grow as leaders, both on campus and off. Our mission, vision and values directly correlate to the University’s central purpose—the personal development of students.
