Position Description

The Director of Student Recruitment is a highly visible role that works cross-functionally within Chicago Booth and across the University of Chicago. As a senior member of the full-time MBA admissions team the Director is responsible for innovative approaches to candidate assessment and all facets of the in-person/virtual experience for prospective and admitted students. The Director will think strategically across audiences and platforms to increase the number of applications and matriculants to Chicago Booth as well as how to select and increase yield amongst admitted students.
  • Serve as a senior member of the admissions committee. Conduct MBA recruitment, evaluation, and yield activities. Duties include reading and evaluating applications; traveling domestically and internationally and attending various recruiting and yield events.
  • Lead the strategic approach for the annual assessment and selection of the Full-Time MBA class. Oversee the admissions committee and serve as the subject matter expert for evaluation.
  • Own and manage the admissions lifecycle, including the creation of all admissions-related applications, calendars, timelines, and protocol.
  • Develop and lead all training pertaining to the assessment and selection the Full-Time MBA class.
  • Manage the Global Outreach team responsible for all virtual and in person experiences. Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies that increase awareness of MBA opportunities at Chicago Booth.
  • Ensure seamless execution of recruiting events/activities; including the planning and marketing events to prospective/admitted students, alumni, and corporate partners.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of admissions or admissions-related experience preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Experience giving presentations to groups required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work non-traditional hours required.
