The University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola, FL has a full-time opening for a full-time Diversity Initiatives Coordinator.
The Coordinator develops, implements and monitors events/programs that promote diversity within the institution. This role is responsible for event management, developing training, and assisting with initiatives to create and foster an open and inclusive environment. The incumbent assists in fostering partnerships with campus partners that align with UWF's Diversity Goals.
The Coordinator works closely with the Assistant Director in regards to outreach and retention programs both on campus and in the community and assists in developing, promoting, and assessing current and new activities and programs designed to create a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable learning and working environment at UWF and in the greater community. The Coordinator is responsible for coordination of Equity and Diversity related programming, activities and initiatives including, but not limited to: Global Block Party, awards ceremonies, Cross-Cultural Competency Programs, Diversity Workshops, and campus resource fairs.
The Coordinator assists with all aspects of the event planning process for specific events, including collaboration with campus partners and volunteers, venue identification, menu development, promotion of event, and budget tracking. The incumbent assists in compiling information for the annual report; collaborates with campus partners to help support and promote the vision for diversity and inclusion at UWF; and conducts research of key diversity and inclusion topics and develops presentations and materials to showcase critical information to advance the mission of UWF. The incumbent assists in the management and delivery of training, workshops, and seminars on diversity and inclusion topics and may co-supervise interns and student workers.
Lastly, the Coordinator assists with the development and implementation of the Office of Equity and Diversity's communications strategy including but not limited to the development, creation, or maintenance of resource materials, social media presence, website, event advertisements, tabling schedules, monthly newsletters, etc.
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Master's Degree and 1-3 years of experience in diversity training or event management preferred.
