Position Description

Assignment in Residence Life (LLC) - Work with Housing & Residence Life staff to meet NSU branding guidelines; create a marketing plan for their events and services; work to create advertisement in the form of posters, fliers, brochures, mailers, prints, etc.; work with internal and external departments or businesses on advertisements; supervised living learning programming efforts, advertisements, and overall program effectiveness; work with Housing & Residence Life staff to address the wants and needs of residents in regards to hall comfort, safety and welfare; address student complaints regarding the work order process and/or emergency issues; organize office operations and procedures, filing system and clerical functions; and provide back up support in office as needed.

Assignment in Residence Life (Conduct) - Work with University Housing staff and the Coordinator for Student’s Rights and Responsibilities to review resident conduct cases; prepare professional correspondence for conduct cases including letters of clarification; communicate with students, faculty and staff regarding conduct cases; adjudicate cases of alleged resident misconduct; maintain accurate and detailed resident conduct files as well as the resident conduct database; develop and perform outreach presentations for Residence Life, student orientation classes and living-learning communities on the resident and student codes of conduct.

Assignment in Intramurals - Our intramural graduate assistant position is responsible for organizing and managing all sports, equipment, recruiting players through booths on campus, special events and paper advertising. They will also develop tournament brackets, referee all sports, and handling intramural social media.

Assignment in Fitness Center - Our fitness center graduate assistant is required to work in all aspect of the Fitness Centers operations. These being the front desk, fitness floor, group classes, cleaning, and other daily task. They will also play a vital role as a FitRanX coach.

As a FitRanX coach you will work with our community, faculty, and students. Taking them through fitness assessments, coaching our FitRanX classes, handling member management reports, and guide each member through our fitness level testing. As a FitRanx coach you will be required to go through the FitRanX workouts and test for Levels 1-3.


Job Requirements

Successful candidates will have strong facilitation and presentation abilities, written communication, and professional email skills.  Candidates must be dependable, punctual, detail oriented, courteous, and adaptable.

Upon selection, candidates must enroll in the Northeastern State University Graduate College - Higher Education Leadership program.
