Job Purpose: This position cultivates a thriving environment that enhances lifelong well-being among students and employees who live, learn and work in the Georgia Tech community. The position will work with the campus community to assess the health and well-being needs and develop proactive, upstream strategies to address the needs of GT students from a variety of perspective: personal, interpersonal, organizational, environmental, and policy. Will research, create, implement, and evaluate theory-and evidence-based health and well-being programs, services and initiatives creatively designed for student and employee success. Will creatively approach the lens of prevention and education by focusing on resiliency, life skills, sleep, financial literacy, happiness, kindness, mindfulness, and connectivity. Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to health for students.
Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating upstream, innovative, programs, services and initiatives to promote health and well-being for student and employee success within the diverse Georgia Tech community.
Develop, implement, and analyze periodic student health surveys that (1) provide baseline and follow-up health and well-being data, (2) identify program needs and priorities, (3) evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, and (4) track trends in student health status and behavior.
Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health for students.
Hire, train, manage, supervise, and evaluates paid and/or volunteer staff, interns, and/or peer educators.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Additional Information: There may be potential for exposure to hazardous and toxic substances, infectious materials. Position must demonstrate competence in the following areas: performance evaluation, confidentiality review, Health & Well-Being mission and vision, infection control review, management of information, performance improvement principles, continuing education, preceptor ship, evaluation, and reporting abuse victims/domestic violence and HIPPAA review.
Impact & Influence: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Georgia Tech students and employees, departmental staff, campus staff and campus partners supporting health and well-being. Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Policy or Health Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience: Two to four years job related experience in health and well-being programming, education and outreach in higher education. This may include graduate assistantship
Skills: Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and email, knowledge or (1) health promotion, behavior changes, and population-based theories, (2) evidence-based health promotion programs/initiatives, (3) environmental management strategies/ecological model, (4) student development theories and models. Position requires effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Education: Master's or advanced degree in the above

Preferred Certifications: National Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES/MCHES), Nationally accredited health coaching certification (i.e. Wellcoaches, National Consortium of Health & Wellness Coaching, etc.), Gallup Strengths Coach, Mindfulness certification (ie. KORU)
