The TRIOMcNairScholarsProgramManager providesadministrativeleadership fortheMcNair ScholarsProgram including: program development, staff supervision, budget management and grant proposal writing. The position also includes maintaininga client case load and qualityfaculty relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide required documentation and accountability for services provided, allowable costs, and objectives accomplished. • Identify,recruit andselect25 eligible participants. • Provide program development andservice delivery. • Hire,train,andsuperviseMcNair Programstaff. • Track performance measures, update programdatabase and prepareannualperformance reportto U.S. Departmentof Education andUWSAdministration. • Maintain budgetmanagement and complete budget reports as needed. • Compliance with federal regulations and Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR). • DevelopandmaintaineffectivecommunicationbetweentheMcNairScholarsProgramandthe University faculty and staff, including disseminating information about program services to the University through presentations, website, brochures and newsletters. • Monitor FacultyMentorsto assurequality servicesare provided to participants. • Overseeacademic,financial,graduateschooladmissions,andcareeradvising to Scholars. • Develop coordination and working relationships with graduate program offices at doctoral granting institutions andfacilitatevisitations andmentorship'sfor currentMcNairScholar's. • Implement planfordatacollection, documentation and evaluationof all phases and requirementsofthe program. • Maintain a caseload of students. • Coordinate allfacetsof the project. • Coordinate public relations. • Promote the general welfareof the staff and project participants • Complete mandatory trainings and professional development opportunities. • Otherduties asassignedand/ornecessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of TRIO programs and the federal reporting requirements that govern these activities. • Knowledge of higher educationacademic programs, STEM and supportservices and the value of apublic, liberal arts education. • Skill in utilizing computer software programs in a work environment. • Abilitytocommunicate effectively,both orallyand inwritingwith students,faculty,staff and others. • Knowledge of academic,financial,graduateschool admissions,andcareeradvisingto Scholars. • Demonstrate supervising student research or working with student research/scholarly activities. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and others. • Abilitytowork withand/or advising avarietyof racial and ethnic groups and underrepresented populations. • Abilitytoanalyze numericalstatistical data. • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and analysis in decision-making and problem-solving. • Abilitytoparticipate in evening andweekendevents as necessary. • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information and records. • Ability to commit tothehighest ethicalstandards. • Ability to effectively plan, organizeanddirect assigned programs and operations.
Master's degree in counseling, educational psychology, student personnel services, STEM, or a related area.
• One(1) yearexperienceworkingwith lowincome orfirst-generation students atthe university level.
