Position Description

JOB SUMMARY
Plans and implements program initiatives for the assigned college, department, and/or unit. Participates in the generation of program resources, communication, design and development of operating goals, objectives, and protocols. Serves as primary point for program implementation and operational matters. Provides technical, professional and programmatic guidance, consultation, and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops, plans and coordinates the implementation and execution of programs, special projects, events and other initiatives designed to achieve the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the assigned program(s) and/or area(s)

2. Oversees and administers all facets and activities related to day-to-day operations of the assigned program(s)

3. Serves as liaison with internal and external clients on all matters relating to program activities

4. Provides and/or coordinates the provision of technical guidance, consultation, related support to clientele within area of program focus

5. Assists with forecast projections and budget for each fiscal year and evaluates progress towards financial goals

6. Prepares and delivers program presentations and collateral for program and events

7. Coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data, prepares comprehensive program reports and evaluation summaries

8. Coordinates and monitors social media presence and program outreach

9. May supervise and/or lead staff and/or students assistants, as assigned

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates campus-wide outreach activities and awareness campaigns, including campus speakers, workshops, and trainings (e.g., Women’s History, Domestic Violence Awareness, Sexual Assault Awareness, etc.) with emphasis on women and gender

2. Coordinates the development of programs and services supporting KSU women students in STEM fields and their professional development

3. Engages with the campus community on women and gender issues, maintaining high visibility and availability to students, staff, and faculty

4. Serves as an advocate to survivors of interpersonal violence, including providing support, information, and referrals as needed

5. Assists in the assessment and evaluation of WRC programs and services including

6.Collecting and analyzing data based on established KPIs

7. Advises, supports, and/or advocates for student organizations that align with the mission and work of the WRC

8. Coordinates use of the Owl Life student engagement software to create and publicize student programs and events, track student participation, and ensure compliance with divisional and university guidelines

9. Provides support for other divisional priorities and initiatives beyond scope of department, as requested

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

• Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of student development and frameworks

• Knowledge of social and political gender issues and the intersection of other identities, including racial,

ethnic, religious, sexual, nationality, etc.

• Ability to successfully interact with a multicultural community comprised of individuals/groups from an array of

backgrounds, identities, experiences and communication styles

• Demonstrated knowledge of policies, program development, and evaluation related to diversity and inclusion on college campuses

• Ability to recognize and protect confidential information and exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy in

handling sensitive information and situations

• Ability to work as a contributing member in a team-oriented environment, successfully interacting with internal

and external colleagues and partners

• Available to work evenings and weekends for programming with students

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience
One (1) years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education, or related field
Experience with student activities, event coordination/planning, and student advising
A demonstrated passion for and/or experience supporting student success in a diverse and complex environment


Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in Higher Ed Administration, Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field
