Position Description

The coordinator position reports directly to the Assistant Dean/Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is part of the division of Student Life at Maryville University. Currently, the Diversity and Inclusion staff consists of an Assistant Dean/Director, two Program Coordinators and a graduate assistant.


Job Requirements

  • Coordinate programs related to the Multicultural Scholars program (e.g., Scholars Welcome, Scholars Retreat, cultural outings, community service project etc.) Mentor and advise students participating in the Multicultural Scholars program and empower them to develop and accomplish their personal, academic, and professional developmental goals. Advise student organizations.
  • Serve as a key player in the social and academic integration for underrepresented students by developing a positive rapport with students, parents, faculty, staff. Maintain thorough and accurate student information on attendance, participation, progress, retention, graduation, and post-graduate plans.
  • Assist in developing campus-wide retention strategies and programs for underrepresented students. Coordinate and manage K-12 community outreach programs connect to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
