Position Description

Program Coordinator

As a member of the Undergraduate Admissions team the Program Coordinator, Visits and Events creates a welcoming campus experience for prospective students, guests, and visitors. Engages in evaluation, assessment, and benchmarking efforts of University Ambassador program. Student development and outreach programming. Leads the University Ambassador Tour Guide Program, overseeing the interviewing, hiring, training, supervision and ongoing development of 80+ student ambassadors and 3 student captains. Develops and coordinates training of University Ambassadors to provide comprehensive knowledge about the campus and university. Updates training yearly and provides training to other teams as needed. Manages, monitors, and responds to customer needs, feedback and concerns to ensure an exceptional experience. Ensures that customers' needs and university goals are aligned to meet the needs of the campus visit experience through the use of evaluation processes. Coordinates program marketing and recruitment efforts. Evaluates effectiveness of program and provides constructive feedback for students. Establishes and manages work-flow and schedules to meet staffing goals and meet customer demand. Learns and uses the CRM, Student Information System, Internal and External Event Registration systems, and other technologies to perform timely and accurate entries into databases regarding student information, call/email activity and other processes, performs data validation and manages electronic workflows. Researches and benchmarks our campus visit experience and the University Ambassador program with similar universities. Conducts performance reviews annually and takes disciplinary actions when necessary. Supports requests for group visits and individual VIP requests. Manages and tracks budget for student employees. Counsels and corresponds with students, families, university departments, or other stakeholders regarding Ohio State visit and event needs, policies, procedures, and general information over the phone, via email, and in person. Conducts large and small-group presentations. Learns and maintains knowledge of the areas within the office and university to best direct questions from staff and guests. Researches and resolves problems. Assists with on and off campus recruitment events and projects. Provides support to access, diversity, and inclusion on/off campus programs and initiatives. Review applications (domestic, international, transfer, special population) through our holistic application review process – actual time commitment will fluctuate through the year. Serves as a resource for staff in securing students and young alums for events both on and off campus. Participate as an active member of Undergraduate Admissions through membership on committees. Completes special assignments and other duties as assigned

 

This position is a non-exempt position and falls within the guidelines of FLSA. 

 

Required: A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate is required. Proven experience with program planning and implementation. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

 

Desired: A master's degree is desired. Work experience at a college/university, admissions preferred. 1-3 years of experience in admissions is desired. Knowledge of data interpretation, CRM, other recruitment technology platforms and student development theory are desired. Previous supervision experience.
