Salary is in the mid-twenties. Position is a twelve month, full time appointment with full university benefits. Due to the live-in nature of the position, a furnished residence hall efficiency apartment and a standard Fall and Spring meal plan is provided by the University. Apartment includes internet service and local phone service.

Position Description

The Offices of Residence Life and Diversity Initiatives are posting a dynamic entry-level position with a fresh focus. The Residential Coordinator / Assistant Director of Diversity Initiatives is a full-time live-in university administrator reporting to Residence Life and Diversity Initiatives.

Residential Coordinator Component:
As a Residential Coordinator (RC), responsibilities include management of one or more residential area(s) of 100-340 students. Includes supervision of resident assistant staff, coordination of hall programs, hall committee advising, shared on-call duty, student discipline, crisis management and referral, and support of theme living (depending on building placement). Each Residential Coordinator coordinates a segment of central residence life functions such as RA training, RA selection, summer conference/housing, and other duties as assigned.

Assistant Director Component:
As the Assistant Director of Diversity Initiatives, this position provides high quality programs and services for the campus community. Working collaboratively within Student Life and Diversity Initiatives, this position assists in the implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives for the student body and serves as a resource to the campus at large to bring awareness and integration of inclusive practices and programs. This position supports the UE Chief Diversity Officer with engaging all areas of the University. Primary activities within Diversity Initiatives include:
> Management of the Diversity Resource Center
> Campus Diversity Programming
> Support of the Fellow Scholars Program and all of its associated elements

This dual position is key in coordination and support for diversity programs and initiatives within residence life and student engagement.


Job Requirements

Must demonstrate strong supervisory and organization abilities, as well as professional verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to serve as a self-starter, project manager, excellent interpersonal leader, community builder, independent collaborator, communication and business software user, and a solutions-oriented leader and mentor. Direct experience in working with Diversity Education, Residence Life management, and implementing co-curricular programs is preferred. Valid driver's license required. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree not required, but desirable.
