Position Description

JOB SUMMARY:  Position reports to the Director of Finance & Administration, responsible for expanding and transforming the platform capabilities of occupancy planning and demand of management validation.  These functions are currently delivered through StarRez, a third party housing management system which includes the housing student portal.  This position oversees the comprehensive marketing & communications efforts for the department.  The position is a dedicated resource to deliver a best-in-class occupancy management and operations system.

JOB DUTIES:      

  • Occupancy Management & Planning: Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to the occupancy planning function, including (2) direct reports, (2) indirect reports who manage assignments and summer camps and conferences. Ensure the function deploys the correct targeted operating model through the various business cycles and align for increased portfolio repositioning. Reduce unintentional vacancy, ensure data integrity to enable sound enterprise decision making, and optimize space utilization through innovative methods and technology applications. Support ongoing enterprise strategy development and ensure that tactical site plans can effectively achieve desired end-state.
  • Marketing & Communications: Oversees and guides the development and implementation of comprehensive communication and marketing plans, strengthening the visibility, stature, and reputation of the department while maintaining brand standards for the department and the University. Provides guidance on strategic marketing goals and outcomes and identifies key internal and external communications challenges, opportunities, and initiatives.
  • Housing Management System: Oversees vendor's enhancements of occupancy planning tools and associated process improvements to position the function that effectively manages increased portfolio scale and improved service delivery. Reviews and enhances disaster preparedness strategy for the occupancy planning function and provide leadership during business-continuity management events, conduct due diligence in connection with and perform additional job duties as requested. Oversees the user provisioning and de-provisioning procedures for StarRez and other external applications associated.
  • Operations: Communicate relevant occupancy planning program topics professionally with senior management, governance committees, staff, peer support services teams, and internal client constituents in both written form and through in person presentations. Must be recognized by internal clients and support services peers as a strong performer, responsive, and a reliable partner. Provide useful and informative benchmarking reports on a weekly/cyclical demand. Ensure execution of work requests, documentation/ process compliance, and innovation, which results in a productive work environment.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

 PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:  StarRez software system experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Overnight Travel (Occasional)
