This is a full-time, twelve-month management position with full benefits.

Under the leadership of the Assistant Vice President for Identity, Health and Wellness, the Senior Director of Student Health Services (SHS) has administrative oversight of and managerial responsibility for the staff and operations of Student Health Services.  The Senior Director oversees all aspects of health care delivery to ensure the primary medical and health care needs of students are met.  The Senior Director supervises and leads medical, nursing, and support staff to delivery high quality student health care services to promote optimal student health that will support personal and academic success and lifelong wellness. The Senior Director provides leadership for strategic planning, goal and objective setting, policy development, service provision and response to health emergencies. The Senior Director is responsible for managing the operations of Student Health Services and in that capacity, ensuring efficient use of available resources in the delivery of high-quality services (clinical care, health promotion, and public health) to West Chester University students. The Senior Director acts as a health care resource for the university community in conjunction with the SHS staff to foster a healthy campus environment. The Senior Director collaborates within the university and the West Chester community as an advocate for student health and wellness.

Due to the nature of operations, the Senior Director of Student Health Services will work and plan a varied annual work schedule to observe and/or supervise clinical operations, including early morning, evening and weekend hours. The typical work schedule is 8:00 am - 4:30 pm M-F; however, as needs arise, evenings and weekends will be required based on specific programming and staffing needs.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Master's in Nursing, Public Health, Health Care Administration, or related health care/education field. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience in a health care/clinical setting; 3-5 years of professional work experience in health care, health sciences education, or public health.

Preferred Qualifications:  Doctoral degree and 3-5 years of professional experience as a nurse or health educator in a college/university, or health center director in a college/university, or health care administrator in a public health setting.
