Position Description

Serve as a student conduct officer. Serve as a facilitator for student conduct hearings. Ensure hearings are effectively administered by supervising the preparation of all notifications and documentation; scheduling conduct meetings and hearings, notifying all participants, and review all physical and/or documentary information submitted to the hearing boards. Serve as the primary student conduct officer for recognized student organizations. Utilize Maxient efficiently and update cases for Clery, Minger, and Title IX. Input University of Louisville Police Department reports as needed.
Consult with departments regarding behavioral concerns and distressed student situations. Assist with students in distress and provide care and support.
Serve as a Title IX Investigator. Conduct prompt, equitable and impartial administrative investigations into assigned student complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-related violence including stalking and intimate partner violence, discrimination and harassment.
Serve as a resource for managing student issues related to students in distress, at-risk students, and students in crisis. Build and maintain positive collaborative relationships with various University departments and community agencies to assist students in a given situation. Assist with the review of emergency fund applications and/or distribution of emergency funds. 
Serve as a 24-7 crisis responder on the Student Affairs On-Call Team by providing support and resources to students who are transported to the hospital. On-Call responders will coordinate an appropriate response with other university officials, family members of the transported student, and follow up actions to assist the student in returning to the University such as absence notifications, commitment to care, and other administrative processes.
Assist in the development of Dean of Students policies, procedures, and publications. Assist with other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Ability to foster a collaborative work environment, good judgment, and the ability to promote high ethical standards.
High level of commitment to professionalism and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience responding to student crisis situations and developing crisis response protocols and strategies.
Knowledge of government regulations that pertain to students including FERPA, HIPAA, Title IX, Section 504, and the Americans with Disability Act.
Demonstrated sensitivity to the concerns and needs of a diverse student population.
Experience working in student conduct within a college or university setting.
