STUDENT CENTER AND STUDENT SUCCESS INITIATIVES DIRECTOR
Tidewater Community College invites applications for the position of Student Center and Student Success Initiatives Director on the Norfolk Campus.
The largest provider of higher education and workforce development services in Hampton Roads, TCC serves some 35,000 students annually. With four campuses and regional centers for the visual arts, performing arts, health professions, advanced technology, and automotive technology, TCC is a comprehensive institution offering more than 150 programs, including a full complement of college transfer and career and technical education, workforce training and development services, and general community enrichment and outreach.
The Student Center and Student Success Initiatives Director provides strong leadership and sound management for all aspects of the operation of a comprehensive campus Student Center and all campus student success programmatic initiatives. Working collaboratively with campus faculty, staff, students, and external contractors that operate within the facility, the Director provides oversight for the planning, development, and execution of the goals of the Student Center, student success, and retention initiatives that ultimately support the larger campus and college vision. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated knowledge of academic administration in a public comprehensive community college. Demonstrated experience and expertise in project management that has successfully: a) executed and evaluated a large student-oriented operation; b) coordinated programs among a significant number of external partners; c) supervised assigned staff and built a highly effective working team; d) made first-rate oral and written presentations; e) organized, analyzed, and innovated; and f) negotiated and communicated effectively while establishing cooperative working relationships with a diverse array of individuals. A record of successful leadership and management in a higher education setting, preferably in a community college environment. Knowledge of budgetary processes, preferably as they apply to higher education. Knowledge and experience in facilities management. Demonstrated understanding of and belief in the comprehensive mission of community colleges. Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, preferably in a discipline related to either student activities or student services. General knowledge of the student success and extracurricular activities at the college level is preferred.
SALARY: Anticipated salary range is between $62,270 and $65,500. Actual salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience with consideration for internal alignment factors. The college offers an excellent benefits package.
