Position Description

The principle duties of the Student Organization Advising Specialist, housed within the Center for Leadership & Involvement (CfLI), will be to assist with Registered Student Organization (RSO) advising, development, registration, and support.
The Student Organization Advising Specialist's principal duties will be to assist with Registered Student Organization (RSO) advising, development, registration, and support. This position will assist with campus administration of the Wisconsin Involvement Network (WIN), powered by the Campus Labs Engage software platform.

Principal duties:Student Organization Management 30%
- Assist in the coordination of the annual student organization registration and orientation process
- Coordinate Registered Student Organization and RSO Benefit Provider communication
- Serve as a liaison for the Badgers Step Up! program, including attendance tracking and continual curriculum development
- Assist with campus administration of the Wisconsin Involvement Network (WIN) software, powered by Campus Labs Engage
- Coordinate and serve as chair of the Wisconsin Experience Grant - with support of grant administrator (student hourly)

Student Staff Supervision 30%
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the Organizational Development Consultants (student staff members) who serve as initial point of contact for registration, advising, and general office duties
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the Wisconsin Experience Grant Student Coordinator

Student Organization Advising 25%
- Provide general organization and registration advising services for all Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)
- Coordinate orientations & trainings for RSOs and RSO Advisors
- Continue development & implementation of RSO and RSO member experience improvements 

General Office duties 15%
- Monitor and provide regular updates to the CfLI, Student Organization Resource & Policy Guide, and affiliated websites
- Assist in advancing the mission and vision of CfLI and the Student Affairs through targeted projects, initiatives and divisional committees
- Represent Student Affairs at campus events
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

This position will report to the Assistant Director of Organization Advising & Technology

Job Requirements

A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in student activities, student leadership or advising is required. Experience with student organization management software is preferred.
