Position Description

Responsible for developing a comprehensive training and professional development plan for all graduate and undergraduate staff within Residential Communities as well as developing and organizing New Staff Welcome and End of Year celebration for residential communities' student staff.

Responsible for organizing and developing on-going professional development opportunities and continuing education for student staff and assist with the coordination of professional staff training within residential communities.

Responsible for completing required training that is related to laws and regulations, that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace; and safer work environment.

Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.

Assist Housing and Residential Communities' Assistant Director of Residence Education in the recruitment and interview process as well as manage training databases and generate reports for the department.

This position will require significant "extra hours" during staff training and selection periods, including hall openings and closings and sign-up process for returning students. This position will need to be flexible in work habits to allow for the extended work schedule to attend evening meetings and training.


Job Requirements

General knowledge of Student Development Theories. Additional skills needed in counseling, organization, interaction, recruitment, and training. Demonstrated commitment to expand multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills as evidenced through: demonstrating self-awareness; understanding and valuing others; demonstrating knowledge of social inequalities; interacting effectively with a diversity of people; fostering equity and inclusion.

Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or other relevant field. Prefer supervisory experience, professional development, training, student affairs, and customer service experience.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Ability to work "extra hours" to include evenings and possible weekends as needed.
