Position Description

Essential functions of this position:
Provides planning and implementation support of special events and academic celebrations. Develops and manages transfer transition programs including a transfer student mentor program and transfer social and educational events. Other events include: Convocation, Family & Alumni Weekend, Commencement and freshman and transfer orientation including program marketing. The Coordinator works with a team to implement transition program events and to select and train student leaders. participates and implements portions of a variety of events throughout the year that promote retention and assist with a new student’s transition.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Must have demonstrated ability to attend to details with a high degree of accuracy
Previous experience with implementing large scale programs

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Master’s degree in higher education or college student personnel; or equivalent combination of training and experience
