Position Description

The Assessment Analyst serves as a member of the University Housing Central Leadership Team and is responsible for providing leadership to develop and increase departmental knowledge of students, the educational environment, and student program effectiveness. Provides coordination and expertise in
designing, implementing, and interpreting assessment, evaluation, and research projects. Responsible for the design and implementation of the departmental assessment plan and for the creation and dissemination of assessment outcomes within the department and to select campus partners. The Assessment Analyst has an integral role in the departmental strategic planning process and is responsible for overseeing the coordination, timeliness, and delivery of departmental strategic projects.

Responsible for assessment development utilizing established principles of measurement theory to develop reliable instruments that assess student learning, satisfaction, or evaluation of programs and services with consideration of psychometric characteristics, qualitative/quantitative analysis and human research integrity. Utilize analytic technology to distill data into formats that support data-driven decisions.

Responsible for strategic planning and project management. Analyze, interpret, and disseminate available data specific to new initiatives and key strategic projects. Ensure departmental assessment efforts are consistent with Institutional Research and SACS guidelines. Extract data sets that predict future outcomes
and trends related to students and the services and programs provided by the Housing department.

Responsible for assessment leadership to include data collection, data management, dissemination, and consultation. Effectively lead planning discussions and facilitate processes that align with departmental, divisional, and University missions, visions, values, and initiatives. Identify assessment opportunities and conduct appropriate measures that will complete the cycle and inform departmental decision making.

Responsible for assessment reporting. Disseminate assessment findings to stakeholders and facilitate use of findings for continuous improvement. Assist with development of annual report and other documents shared with university partners. Serves as liaison to and assists with Student Affairs assessments as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience related to the duties of the position; or a high school diploma/equivalency and four years of experience related to the position.
  • Experience in higher education administration, strategic planning, assessment leadership or related field.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
  • Ability to apply principals and practices of strategic planning development and evaluation
