TPE Year-Round Volunteer Opportunities

Resume Reviewer

Do you have experience reviewing resumes? Have you gone through a successful search? Consider the opportunity to review resumes for TPE Onsite candidates.

Pre-TPE Onsite Employer Consultation Program

The purpose of this program is to assist employers, new to TPE Onsite, with their acclimation to the process. Participants will be linked with a veteran TPE Onsite employer (consultant) who will serve as a resource prior to arriving on-site in Indianapolis. The consultant will work with the new employer, 1-on-1, to assist in areas such as:

  • Choosing the best qualified search team
  • Providing tips for navigating the candidate search and identifying qualified applicants
  • Maximizing ones time before and after TPE
  • Efficiently reviewing candidate resumes/cover letters
  • And more!

Particpate

Virtual Round Table Presenter (for Entry-Level Professionals)

A Virtual Roundtable Presenter presents on topics via webinars geared towards entry-level professionals. This online presentation would be geared towards preparing a candidate for the TPE Onsite event or for a candidate's journey following the on-site experience in March.

Eligibility: You must be a professional with 3+ years of full-time experience in Student Affairs. Presentation topics and presenters will be determined a minimum of 6 weeks in advance in order to schedule the webinars on certain dates and times in the calendar year. 

Virtual Round Table Presenter (for Mid-Level Professionals)

A Virtual Roundtable Presenter presents on topics via webinars geared towards mid-level professionals. This online presentation would be geared towards preparing a candidate for the TPE Onsite event or for a candidate's journey following the on-site experience in March.

Eligibility: You must be a professional with 5+ years or more of full-time experience in Student Affairs. Presentation topics and presenters will be determined a minimum of 6 weeks in advance in order to schedule webinars for certain dates and times in the calendar year.

TPE Onsite Volunteer Opportunities

Are you or someone you know interested in volunteering for TPE Onsite? Whether you are attending as a candidate or an employer or just happen to be in the host city at the time of TPE Onsite, we encourage you to join our team of amazing on-site volunteers. The list below provides more information about the different volunteer opportunities to choose from.

Candidate Coaches

Candidate Coaches assist in individualized job search coaching during TPE Onsite The audience ranges from new to seasoned professionals. Eligibility: You must be a professional with 5+ years of experience. Coaching will begin onsite at the event on Thursday and conclude on Saturday. Coaching hours are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on these dates.

On-Site Roundtable Presenters

Roundtable Presenters at the TPE Onsite event assist in presenting topics geared towards entry-level professionals. Eligibility: You must be a professional with 3 years or more of full-time experience in Student Affairs. Presentations will be conducted from Thursday through Saturday. Sessions will last approximately 45 minutes with approximately 10 minutes for question and answer at the conclusion of each presentation.

On-Site Volunteer

Whether providing directions, greeting candidates and employers, sorting or delivering mail, hosting a waiting area, or serving as a resource at the Solutions Station, there are many roles for on-site volunteers during TPE Onsite. This is a great opportunity to get to know other candidates and employers.

Mock Interviewer

Mock interviewers assist in individualized job search preparation during the TPE Onsite Candidate Boot Camp session. The session is for candidates who attend onsite training prior to the Boot Camp session. Eligibility: You must be a professional with 5+ years of full-time experience in Student Affairs. NOTE: Please take travel into consideration if interested in this role.

Event Setup

The Placement Exchange is searching for anyone who will be in the host city on Tuesday of the event, who can assist with a variety of tasks, which may include assembling mailboxes, setting clocks, filling bags, or putting together name tags.
